One poor season isn't likely to cause a mass exodus from Man U with players under contract. The main worries, if I were a Man U fan, would be all the players they have that are out of contract in the summer, and the aging players in their squad who look well past it. Their squad needs a real overhaul in the coming 2 seasons I reckon, and I am far from sure Moyes is the best man to do it.

Kind of bullshit now seeing as they beat us.

van Persie and Rooney both seem likely to want out if they miss CL. Rooney will probably leave anyway. Going to be really hard to replace those 2.

That stat is for away games

Don't think they will let RVP leave, and even if they would it will be difficult finding a club willing to match his wages. I say that because of his injury record; any club willing to take a 30 year old with a very dodgy injury record at about 200k per week is frankly taking a massive gamble.

He can't steal donuts anymore for one thing. Also, if you are forced to stay in Manchester - wouldn't everyone get a pretty poor image of England?

The players will live in Cheshire, not inner city Manchester.

Away from home.

I wonder whether Robin is happy with the direction United are going in...

Fergie at the game today.
Looking at who the had on the pitch today - he didn't exactly leave the squad in great shape for Moyes.
Their midfield is truly woeful in comparison to ours, City's and Chelsea's.

Any event that makes Ferguson look like a stockbroker during the GFC can't be all bad.

he sure left a shitty aging squad behind, he knew what he was doing when he retired. their midfield has been shit for quite a few seasons now (not a good reflection on wenger and the rest for not being able to beat them). and then to compound things he dicked around pogba and now look at him. imagine them with pogba and januzaj.

I'll bet the feels like giving the little brat inside him a spanking.

What was Moyes thinking when playing Januzaj at CF btw?

What a team effort one single solitary penalty scored

They could lose anything at the moment.

Mata to United is on apparently. That'll make them a one man team 😃

hmm, i was gonna say it sounds like that paves the way for chelsea to get falcao, but he just ruptured knee ligaments.

I dunno how I feel about this Mata business. He might just help in attracting players during the summer which I had been hoping would be an altogether more fruitless affair.

Manchester United will always attract players. A year out of Champions League won't change that. It will just take a little more money. City weren't close to the Champions League when they started building with the oil money.

It doesn't matter who they get, Moyes is a shit manager who's never won a thing.

Can see a bit of our 05-06 season in this Man Utd team; a lot of big names too far gone to carry the youngsters and mediocre players in the squad. Ferguson was also pretty good at masking his players weaknesses and showcasing their strengths. Moyes seems to do the opposite.

If Rooney/RvC get fit and Mata turns up, they might have enough to scrape the 4. Big if, though.

They'll make Top 4 even without Mata imo. Despite how 'terrible' they've been and how 'brilliant' Liverpool have been there is only a 6 point gap between them.

But it's also 6 points between them and Tottenham, and 5 points between them and Everton. That's 3 teams they need to be more consistant than and so far they've shown nothing to suggest they're capable of that.

I'd back them to be more consistent than those three tbh.

No way guaranteed. They've dropped quite a few points since the last time it was claimed they were nailed on for fourth.

Depends what happens with the form and availability of their missing stars and how Mata settles in I guess. They might have a resurgence - they'll need one.

They won't improve much IMO if they don't get Rooney and RVP back soon to play the bulk of their remaining fixtures.

And Mancini is a mediocre manager who has won almost everything.

Mata would make the top 4 interesting. United now got a real chance, previously they had no chance whatsoever.

Look at his face. He genuinely has no more of an idea where the ball will go than any other bloke in the stadium 😆

Perfect example of mind and body not working in unison

Are these real pics? The more I look at them the more his face looks photoshopped. It's too distorted for a ...bag, let alone a human.

I suppose. But even for city getting the first world class player in was the big step. United have already done that with mata.

His body shape is something Johnny Wilkinson would be proud of.

Apparently United are offering Rooney a new deal, £300,000 per week 😆
