Trick to defend against crosses is to try and stop crosses. Rather steer them inside. On corners, make sure you control a player outside the box. Then when the corner comes in and the AI switches to the right defender - back into the attacker and head it away. Need to have settings on player switch on aerial balls.

Hearing the PS4 controller is ace. May actually get a couple of those for my PS3.

They are pretty nice, but ...

"Select" and "Start" buttons not being in the middle like for ... past 20 years of controllers i've had is a little bit annoying because you always try to press them and instead press on the new touch pad thingy. New "Share" and "Options" buttons are quite small and very "hidden" inside the controller.

Also R2/L2 have quite sharp edges so can feel painful and R1/L1 are again a little bit too inside so they dont feel very responsive.

Also the battery doesnt last very long. Certainly atleast 50% less lifetime on full charge than PS3 controller.

Heard bad things about the rubber on the analogue sticks.

The edge gives better grip, which is a problem for me sometimes. Also heard that the control is ergonomically better.

The shape may be fine, it's the fact that the rubber is being reported as flaking/breaking off within two weeks of release that is the worry.

Couple of my 360 controllers had the rubber break off, I think it's inevitable they way they make it. Was after two years rather than after two weeks mind you.

It's a shame since the actual controller is pretty good, barring the pointless touch pad (which may or may not prove worthwhile down the line, I'm betting on not).

Xbox players seem to be less than happy with their new controller too. I haven't held one yet but I should do at some point this week.

But seriously, I've never had a piece of a dualshock or nintendo controller fall off randomly and I've been using them for a quarter century.

That's what I mean, the way they make it, a layer of moderately thin rubber on top of plastic is bound to come off after being chucked about for a couple of years. That being said, at least my thumb doesn't ache after an hour or two of gameplay like it did with the N64 and Gamecube controllers...

Whats wrong with the Xbox One controller? Looks the same to me...

I'll give you N64 because it was the daddy of all analogue sticks, but not the gamecube. Nope, didn't happen...

The shoulder buttons and the sticks are different on the xbox one controller plus it is smaller but heavier (go figure). As said, I haven't held one, so I'll reserve judgement. Could just be unfamiliarity.

I've held both, Xbox's controller is miles ahead of PS'. Same case as the previous generation really.

Gamecube controller may have been fine, I don't remember in all honestly.

I definitely prefer the Xbox 360 controller to PS3, by quite a distance...
