Just play shorter games Rex. You can smash stuff like uncharted, batman etc. in under 10 hours. Could probably do Tomb Raider in eight if you play it straight.

Significant difference to something like assassins creed which is 25-35 depending on your skill level. Plus it's crap...

Didn't particularly enjoy the first Uncharted so I really don't have a clue as to why I got the sequal. Capi, I like longer games! My fave games are in the mould of Fallout and Skyrim. And I am a sucker for side quests...

2 is miles better than uncharted. Like day and night.

Nowadays I can only manage one or two games per year, except for FIFA of course, so I have to choose my titles with care. I already have Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed Revelations and Max Payne around here somewhere. Don't think I'll ever play them though. Have my eye on Red Dead Redemption instead thanks to you lot.

You sound like me. I haven't played the ps3 for a few months now. I'm going to bring back Fifa and get some money/credit, don't think i'll be playing it on my own anytime soon and if i do want a game i can just play multiplayer at a friends house which is much more fun anyway.

Still yet to play Red Dead and any A Creed after the 2nd one. Also have a couple of games at home that i haven't played yet - Battlefield 3, Splinter Cell and Metal Gear i think. Must get into one of them soon.

You plug it in, give it a whirl, if it's good you come back again at your leisure, if it's not you bin it. I don't entirely blame you though, games have become increasingly bloated and frankly rubbish over the years.

In saying that, my idea of a good game is somewhat different to most of you, so whatever.

For me it is not like that at all Capi. It is more like work, kids and wife are huge obstacles to fulfill my gaming need.

I sometimes get the forward flash that if me and the missus should split up, God forbid, I'd just be gaming, boozing and Arsenaling full time the weeks the kids wouldn't be with me. Not a pretty sight... 🙂

Mate, if you can watch a tv series, you can play a computer game. Do you watch two series' per year? No, you watch many more (I do actually watch one, maybe two shows per year, for what it is worth). It's all just packaged entertainment vying for your time and attention.

What Nintendo have done with the WiiU is incredible for fathers, mothers, husbands, wives etc. but their marketing is shit and they have failed to convey one of it's best selling points properly. Also, they have failed again to secure some of the biggest releases of the year, but that's another issue.

I don't buy the idea of a lack of time if there is a genuine interest. If there isn't, then as we were.

Of course it is a case of priorities. Watching a show is something I mostly do with the missus, a thing we do together. She has no interst in gaming whatsoever though so tough choices have to be made in Casa Rex.

And at the same time you have never played a wii. All games aren't created equally and statistically new female gamers aged 25-45 outnumber males of all categories 2:1. It's the biggest and fastest growing market at the moment by a distance; largely due to the gateway opportunity created by Nintendo first and app stores now.

Anyway, it's not my job to sell you on the idea, so just play uncharted 2 and stop your yapping...

I really enjoyed the first Uncharted which I recently finished. Looking forward to getting into Uncharted 2.

Who says I've never tried the Wii? I have tried a few games but more importantly, so has the wife. Nothing for her. Hence - tv shows and movies for us.

Hmm. But I have. Tried one of them boxing/tennis/other sports games. It just doesn't seem 'game like' to me. More a social gathering around a board game like Monopoly.

I'd like to point out that Rex's trolling and lack of Wii experience is not representative for Sweden in general.

So I churned my way to 100% in Red Dead recently.

Then I picked up Fallout 3, which I hear is a celebrated masterpiece, and tried to play it. I thought the character generation sequences were cute but practically fell asleep from boredom the moment the game started for real. Movement around the environment is so sluggish and the "VATS" combat is dreary as hell.

I can see there's probably a lot of plot and setting detail they put effort into still to come, but I just can't be bothered.
