Not sold on the hybrid idea, but will buy 100%. Haven't missed a nintendo console european release since... well ever, now that I think about it.

Shitty ending to Witcher 3 certainly drags my overall rating of the game down. With that ending, don't really feel like going back in there completing side quests and looking to find that last cache of griffin armor! Maybe I'll change my mind, but right now I feel throughly done with this one, and I certainly didn't see that coming! Thought I had several more hours to get out of this game when I sat down for this gaming session, but that's all vanished now after completing what turned out to be the final piece of the main quest. Very disappointing.

What ending did you get? I think I remember it being pretty clear that the game was nearing it's end when I player it.

i would implore you to play blood and wine, if you havent already. i just finished it last month. the setting of toussaint somehow manages to be even more stunning than velen/noigrad/skellige, and by a good margin as well. around 20-25 new side quests, completely new breeds of monsters, and an engaging main quest - i was very impressed with it

😆 Yeah, pretty much.
Actually, when watching the alternative endings, it turns out it comes down to a few dialogue choices right at the end. I had a 'good' Skellige ending, Velen was alright, but not so much for Ciri and Geralt. What really peeved me off is that I had this happy ending with Yennefer all planned out, and let's just say it didn't materialize. 🙂

I'd definitely recommend the DLC pack. At least 30 hours of new gameplay (which is more than the average campaign on an AAA game) fo £20.

IGN's verdict on the two DLCs:

Hearts of Stone:

Most of all, it leaves Geralt in a good place. 9/10[/font][/size]

I can relate to Rex, it's hard to play the expansion packs as if nothing happened when you get an ending where it's heavily implied that Geralt commits suicide

I'll probably play the expansions after I forget about the ending

Thought I'd give squad building a try on ultimate team. People paying a fortune for crappy players to complete their squads... more than what the fucking reward is worth. Idiots.

Not for the players in the SBCs though. People really going crazy for them. Prices for Schalke players have gone up because people predict that they will be in a SBC in a week. I'm reading about guys who've bought 50 Huntelaars etc.

To be fair, guys, witcher three is one of the clunkier AAA offerings this gen by miles, so if the only issue you had was a poor ending, then you're doing well.

Yup, controls are pretty shit, and I commented on just that right from the off when I started playing the game. There are quite a few super annoying things, and none so more than the damn horse.

atmosphere, story, design, quality/amount of content. its not like there's much competition in the AAA space this gen

as with most open world rpg's, there are definitely niggles, but not big enough to be a major distraction to me.

Witcher 3 is easily the best game I've played this generation. After that, MGSV and Uncharted 4, then probably Fallout 4. The lack of story and amount of bugs, mediocre graphics were too much to make it an outstanding game despite a great open world.
