Of the top of my head I have a couple of games I can recommend that you check out:
FPS:
Half Life 2 - It's ooooold but a classic. Best game I've ever played.
Rainbow Six Siege - Tactical multiplayer shooter.
Portal - Puzzle fps. A work of genius.
Wolfenstein: The New Order - Old school fps and really easy to digest. Takes about 9-10 hours to complete but if you can find it cheap it's awesome.Â
Strategy:
Total War: Rome 2
Xcom 2 - Turn based strategy game by the company behind Civ.
Company of Heroes 2 - Real time WWII strategy game.
Other masterpieces:
The Witcher 3
Fallout 4
