Looks pretty good. Reminds me a bit of the Turok games back in the day on the N64. Are you able to play in the third person though? Really don't enjoy games where the camera has to be in the first person.

That's great. Would jumping to Elder Scrolls V instead of starting at the beginning affect the storyline? How would you rank it in the list of all time great games? Considering getting Last of Us as well as long as I can get a new controller for a decent price here. Which one is the better choice to go for?

Edit: used to love playing new video games but haven't had the same kind of time to explore over recent years. Only really interested in the latest FIFA, as well as whatever Metal Gear Solid and Legend of Zelda games that are due to be released (although the lates fee instalments of each have been nothing to rave about, especially when compared to the original games in the series.

You definitely don't need to play the other games. Different story in each, just the same overall universe. IMO Skyrim is better than Last Of Us. Depends what you like though. If prefer an interactive story you might like LoU, if you prefer an open world and depth to the game go for Skyrim.

I think you like Zelda you'll like Skyrim. Its more of an adult version of things but the same basic ideas apply.

It's an all time great game for sure. Very all-absorbing when you play it for the first time. Jumping into Skyrim is completely fine. If you like it you can go back and play Oblivion and Morrowind, which are considered classics aswell.

Thanks for that Qwiss. Think I'll get Skyrim then. Might just throw in LoU as well. Gonna go to the market over the weekend and see if I can get a decent price on a PS3 controller.

Also really considering getting GTAV on the PS4. Haven't enjoyed one as much as I did San Andreas and GTA3. Got bored really quickly of the later one(s?) and always ended up just fucking about, trying to get as many stars as possible and seeing how long I could last. Is the storyline on the new one any good? Worth getting? Really want to get back into gaming now that I have a bit more time on my hands.

There any other highly recommended games out there at the moment. Just so long as it's not a Call of Duty or Final Fantasy style game.

Skyrim's one of the best games I've ever played (although I can't say I play a lot of games) - you can easily sink 100 hours into the game (more if you mod it)

Yeah, I put an obscene amount of time into it. Was determined to find all the masks before going for the head mission, so I scoured the whole damn world over and over. Only when I gave up I realized that I needed to have my day with Alduin to get the final mask. 🙂

GTA V is definitely worth getting. The variety in missions is enormous compared to the fourth game, and the 3 protagonist mechanic is pretty fun too. Also just by having a larger map with different areas (ie just not one big city like GTA IV) means you can fuck about a lot more without it getting boring.

Seems like I might have quite a few games to be getting into over the next 6 months. MGSV, LoU, Skyrim, GTAV and Fifa. If they're as good as you guys say I might not leave the den for a very long time.

Not into the likes of Skyrim myself. Two best games I've played on PS4 are AC4: Black Flag and Shadow of Mordor.

Black Flag is pretty great. By far the best Assassin's Creed game. Wonder why there isn't more piratey games on the market.

After countless hours of research managed to find out how to fix my ps3 controller that had seemed to develop a life of it's own. It kept randomly scrolling up, down left and right as if someone had control of the anolog stick.

Took it apart 3 times when I came across this fix that used a bit of cello tape and acetone on the inside of the pad. Meant to be used for phantom button clicks but worked for the phantom analog stick movements as well.

Was put off buying LoU the other day because a new controller would have cost more than double the game itself. Gonna go out sometime soon and get a couple new games.

Thats good to here, got Black flag for free on Xbox Live so will check it out once I'm done with the Witcher.

Yep been meaning to, think I mentioned the other day I'm in the middle of a project crunch at the moment, so timing may not be the best 😃

@Otf Black Flag is similar to the other Assassin's Creed games I've played, but it adds on a genuinely fun procedurally generated pirate warfare aspect and it's set in the Caribbean. It's pretty soothing because you're constantly running around in beautiful outdoor environments and swinging on ropes onto random pirate ships.

There are some fairly cool diving and treasure hunting side quests too, and the central storyline is much more rewarding.

I really wish they'd just remove the sf aspects of Assassin's Creed though. The occasional flash-forwards are boring.

Imo, LoU is the best game of last generation.
