One link and then post number 24 nailed it.
You new here?
Don't think things would have turned out differently even if we were in for him. The time to sign him was during the summer - and I don't think we were interested then. Once Chelsea were involved, it was inevitable that he was going to join them.
Newcastle in a lot of trouble now. Only 2 points above the relegation zone.
Wengers doesnt go for the obvious solution, it makes him feel like a less of a man...
😆 it's true, he still thinks he is this uber talent scout soley able to pluck the next Pele from the depths of Africa. No one cares, just sign some fucking quality
Wenger raves about everyone's scouting now. Wigan, Southampton, you name it
Jamie Sanderson @YoungGunsBlog Plenty looked at Ba, but he comes with circus of advisors. £7m fee doubled with agents fees. More trouble than he's worth.
Fees are taking the absolute piss now. Story was that United and City pulled out of Hazard because his were another £8-10m on top of his transfer fee; complete and utter joke.
Sour grapes, methinks. If he was that bad, Newcastle wouldn't be offering him an improved deal. In any case, dodgy knees and all, as a proven and established Premiership striker, he is worth more than £14m in todays inflated market.

Eh? Newcastle are on their knees atm.
and they still offered him more money! strengthens my point, don't you think
I meant that they're on their knees in the league and Demba Ba is their most important player and one whom they can't replace easily - paying off a few agents is a small price to pay in that regard.
Sorry, misunderstood. I agree with you there
Agents don't get much money when deals are extended anyway. They make the bulk of their money when the player is sold. The clause in Ba's contract was specifically inserted for this very reason. They knew he was going to come good.

You are right there. Remember the greedy Anelka brothers? I have also always taken the "dodgy knees" story with a pinch of salt as he failed the Stoke City medical which must have consisted of constant vertical leaps! He passed Hoffenheim's, West Ham's, Newcastle's and now Chelsea's medicals so it diminishes the cavemen's results. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/stoke_city/9361494.stm
Hair looks much better there.

Wasn't he on a pay for play deal at WHU though?
You are right. It is also well documented that he does have chronic knee problems which he has never denied and West Ham didn't subject him to a medical, but i just took the opportunity to take the piss out of Stoke.
