You can look down on it and perhaps correctly so, but it's not like we have a cabinet full of European Cups so I'd say it's about our level. Our time in Europe remains in the future.
'European Cup' is just a canny play on words though. I'd be totally fine with the Europa league if there was any value attached to it, as such it's the competition that you end up in as a reminder of your previous fuck ups.
Of course, I'd settle for a Europa Cup if we ended up in the competition but that's not the same as saying I want to finish fifth or fall out of the CL because you're not going to have one without the other.
