Arsenal's players have complained they have been left shattered by a gruelling fixture programme but, crucially, some players have complained that training levels have not been scaled back as they are at other clubs in the Champions League.
That has come as a culture shock to big-name summer signings. Lukas Podolsk and Santi Cazorla and Arsenal are likely to rest as many players as possible for the final Champions League Group match at Olympiacos.

Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Lukas Podolski will not fly to Athens .... while Santi Cazorla and Mikel Arteta may also be rested.
It is also understood that more players would be given a complete break but three youngsters who would have gone - Nico Yennaris, Serge Gnabry and Ignasi Miquel - are all struggling with knocks.

Wenger has clearly taken on board the players' complaints of being tired after the dressing room inquest but it is also believed Bould is now pushing to do more specific coaching sessions and drills to save Arsenal's season.

As I said before, I would leave pretty much all of them behind to grind it out with Bould and a couple of coaches all week. Five solid days of drills and practice and then the same again next week for the carling cup game.

These guys are too average not to be drilled.

oh the poor little players are tired. i would keep running them out there until their legs fell off. then maybe wenger would be forced to replace his precious top-top-top-top-top-top class players. fuck them and their careers, worthless pieces of shit ... i can't stand the sight of them.

I don't know, Meatwad, our teams have fallen apart physically way too often in recent times for me to think our training is optimal. Maybe they are pushed too hard, who knows...

I would not have Mertesacker, Cazorla, Podolski and Arteta anywhere near this game.
Everyone else is fair game for me. They are either under-performing or have played few enough games that they can use the extra match time.

I struggled to recognise some of the players featured in the pre departure squad training pics.
Looking at the selection below I'm annoyed that I'm going to miss this, it could be mental in a good or horribly bad way.

Don't want to see Gervinho but I suppose he might play if any of the above aren't fit. Those are about the only first team players we have, won't win this.
