I suppose when he populated the spine of the team with semi retired superduds such as Squillaci and Chamakh, alongside struggling Ramsey and Chamberlain, Wenger wasn't really setting us up for a win.
Throwing in a headless Gervinho and pass back master Jenkinson would really have compounded the problem.
I dread to ask but why would Wenger have considered this performance encouraging (he claims he did)?
