You know, I think they are doing it on purpose. Wages are a bit out of hand and they are trying to 'normalise' things. Dangerous game to play, but as per, the club is happy to ride on wenger's tails.

It was the same with Nasri, wasn't it? Not that he deserved the 120K he was asking for under normal circumstances but we left it so late that we didn't have much choice but to pay up or cash in. Ultimately it had a negative impact on our season too. Lost all creativity in our wide play overnight. It was pretty obvious that Wenger didn't want him gone that time, what whis his comment about how you can't be ambitious if you ship Fabregas and Nasri the same summer.

Hardly.

He was a big loss to our possession game and goal threat from WF/midfielders. But he played but a few creative passes per game, and aside from crosses I'd wager be surprised to learn of many assists.

Nasri was creative. Disappointing in terms of end product but twice as creative as anything we've had on the wings since. Excellent at keeping the ball stuck in the attack, providing angles and combination play. Basically the opposite to anyone we've got now apart from Chamberlain.

Creative in that he would build the game. Out and out productivity, I would rate Theo and Gerv ahead, but I'm not a great believer in the line of thought that dictates a player has to post stats to be considered worthwhile.

One good player isn't enough. Cazorla is great, but when he has to combine with dross like Gervais, we won't get the best out of him.

Its a real pity or negotiators messed up the Reus and Mata deals failing to pay the 17m each. Its a wonder we got Cazorla for 12m. I could live with those 3 behind a striker. Reus-Cazorla-Mata. Seems like we wont go above 14ish.

yup, speedy. that's all it takes. spending the money on a few quality players and not trying to fill the squad. if we brought in Mata last season and Cazorla this year with Podolski, I suspect Robin might have been swayed. The three of them behind Robin would be good. Tragic stuff
