I think Jenkinson was trying to get out quickly, he was deepest trying to get in on the cover initially. Regardless, Vermaelen was aware of that and therefore should have reacted accordingly being captain and that.

Santos just stands still.

Outside the usual suspects, I'm struggling to see the point of Podolski in this side. He'll score 15 goals a season from that left wing position but he contributes and creates so little - would swap him and Gervinho around for QPR if Giroud isn't starting. And on that point, why isn't Giroud allowed to start home games??

Yeah, Vermaelen should be a bit more aware. But dont agree that Jenkinson was trying to get out quickly, he was jogging up, and fuck knows what Santos is doing. Real problem starts with the fullbacks.

We lost two headers in midfield, the CB's were too eager to move up, the fullbacks were too lazy and the gk is non-existent. Every single player on the pitch was at fault for that goal. Even Arteta was walking around like he had nothing to do.

Primarily Jenkinson's fault, but Vermaelen should have done better.

Look at Mertesacker there: he does his job by pushing up, but at the same time he never loses awareness of what 'his' player is doing. He plays with margins, whereas Vermaelen does not.

We really need to sort out our training and at the very least buy some proper weights for the gym as almost every other team's players seem stronger and fitter than our lot. We should also sue Diaby, Santos, Rosicky and Arshavin for breach of contract as how is it possible to pay full wages to supposedly professional players who cannot sort out their fitness.

Agree that Arteta was at fault but no player reads the game 100% and once Affelay got going there's no way Arteta can catch him.

Santos was standing 4 metres behind everyone, I said that he was gasping and sweating after only 12 minutes, the only time he moves fast is when he's being pursued by the police- He's a fat lazy fuck and we should sell him.

Sad, but I have to agree. I liked him a lot last year.
More you look at things, more holes you find at "let players sort themselves out" philosophy. Andre is obviously a lovely person, but cannot handle himself professionally at all. Then there's how they "sort themselves out" after Int'l breaks; how they sort themselves out for long term, and sort themselves out of the club.
But let's let them, there's like 20 days till the contract is up, they'll know what they want. Or Vieira will remind them, anyway.
