Reading the Dortmund v Schalke match report hasn't really done anything to get my hopes up for this game.
... against a well-defending Schalke side Dortmund´s passing game lacked the usual sharpness in the opening half in which they managed only two shots on goal - the lowest number of attempts in two and half years.
Dortmund played with heart and commitment but really never found their usual rhythm against a well-marshalled Schalke defence. And they also always had to watch out for the visitors´ counter-attacks, as in the 71st minute when Weidenfeller was forced to produce a stunning save to deny Afellay.
Ominous :\
I don't suppose Wenger would actually drop Mannone would he?
We could do with working on routes of supply to Giroud.
Jenkinson has the tools to get in positions where delivering a decent cross should not be a rare occurrence.
If he does it regularly enough Giroud's more likely to at least connect with one.
Podolski, if he is being played wide, should stay wide if the centre is congested.
He can work on getting his crosses in too. We've seen he can deliver some decent ones.
