I have this friend of mine, Dex, who has problems. Since quitting playing football he has struggled finding a way of exercise he actually enjoys. He really doesn't like gyms btw. In fact, he hates them. He did go to the gym quite a lot though before, but that was merely as prep for football. He doesn't really like running either. Unless there is a ball involved of course. Then running is fine. Dex was even so desperate he actually hooked up a tv in front of the running machine to have at least something he enjoyed doing while doing the dreadful running. Didn't last. Believe me, he tried.
Now, Dex tells me, he is getting desperate. The slob has done NOTHING in roughly a year. Winter was crap too, so he wasn't able to go lake skating a single time, which he actually enjoys doing. However, he keeps eating... He has gained about 30, thirty, THIRTY POUNDS during the last 12 month period. I don't know why it bothers him so much, but he tells me it really, REALLY bothers him.
So basically, if I understand him correctly, he wants to lose weight. He wants to exercise, but has no real motivation to actually do so. He understands that he can't continue eating the way he does, BUT EVERYTHING THAT TASTES WELL IS BAD FOR YOU. Why is that btw? How is it that broccoli, cauliflower, beans, lentils and salad is good for you, but basically is horrid, while chocolate, crisps, a big steak and fries are bad for you? Why? Why?!
The really sad thing is, this fucktard knows a whole lot about training and nutrition. How do you motivate a guy like that to actually get off his butt and do something about it? I know Dex sounds a whole lot like Rex, but this isn't about me at all. Honestly.
