Why is our result looking incredible? We were trounced in the first leg and just managed to salvage some semblance of pride in the second.

I'm not entirely sure what this stat is trying to say but it sounds impressive:

Teams don't even have chances of shooting against Barca. Bayern absolutely dominated them, and created chance after chance.

Mueller is a weird one. He doesn't have any fancy skills, he doesn't look like a world class player, but his ability to find space and intelligent play makes him a great player.

He's looked world class every time I've seen him, for Germany and Bayern.

Always looked world class to me too.

Tactics

Muller is the forward version of Nedved IMO. Not that talented in terms of skill and technique, but game intelligence is what sets them apart.

I'm a bit surprised by the score, but I always fancied Bayern for this tie. They looked like the best team in Europe all year IMO.

It really was astonishing to see Barca being taken apart like that, not a trace or hint of what it is that has made them great was on display.

it looked like an nba style pick and roll

bayern have alot of dynamic players - muller, kroos, schweinsteiger. They all have favoured positions, but can switch things up formation-wise easily.

overall i am thankful that the tiki bullshitta era might be coming to an end.

Its hard to fault Mullers technique. Not sure exactly how strong his left foot is, mind. His body positions are fantastic, almost textbook when doing practically anything with the football, which belies his slightly gangly frame.

Schweinsteiger is another with absolute copy book technique.

Come to think of it, Martinez is really a great signing even at such an overpriced fee for a DM. He is basically the difference between this year and last year's Bayern (does that make it look as if Gustavo is such an inferior inept player btw?).

I know there is also Dante and Mandzukic. The latter is a much more complete player than Gomez but truth to be told it is not that big a difference in quality. The person who pinpointed Bayern's problem and signed Martinez is a genius. Didn't think he is this good.

When I woke up and saw the result in this match I was gobsmacked to be honest. Did anyone pick Bayern to win by a big margin? I'd like to know what the "three goals or more" odds were.

Definitely a watershed result for European competition.

Don't think you can't read anything into our win over Bayern - we got pretty lucky in that match and it was a dead rubber at kickoff anyway. Good win for us just the same.
