Well, not from me. A contract is an agreement between the club and the player for a predetermined period of time. You can't demand that they will automatically extend it when it's running out. That's not how it works. All you can ask is that they do their best as long as they're playing for the club.
In van Persie's case I believe the criticism was more about his choice of club and the way he tried to put pressure on Arsenal to sell him.
