since sagna we've signed the following from ligue 1:
nasri, chamakh, kos, gervinho, park and giroud

So three out of six then, with the jury still out on Giroud? Doesn't seem like a terrible record to me considering the type of players we're going for. Some of these guys were never signed as anything else than squad depth.

Well Park and Chamakh were busts. Nasri was a qualified success. Dunno, think for the money we've spent and the value we've had Ligue Un been decent to us, it's just a surprise with Wenger's French contacts that we havn't managed to do better, either with more quality budget signings, or a top young player like Benzema or Hazard.

I hear you with regards to Sagna, Kos and Giroud who i think will be quality. Thinking about how Chamakh, Squil, Park, etc have managed to survive yet another transfer window is what p***ed me right off.

That is the point i was trying to put across but obviously not as clearly as you managed here.

Nevermind, I missed your point. Carry on.

😆 Never get tired seeing that one Klaus.
Reminds me of this one.

seeing as though he's still hanging around, who would prefer giving arshavin one last run of game instead of gervais? i thought he looked ok against sunderland actually.

He was shit.

At least Gervais can run and tracks back. Arshavin just gives the ball away.

Chamakh - Flop
Park - !??!!?#$%^&*
Nasri was overrated, admit it. Esp for the money he cost!
Gerv- Squad player? For 10 mill? Who goes to ACN ? Now you are pushing in Klaus

😆 Where did I say that Gervinho was signed as a squad player? Oh, right. I didn't. Carry on then.

And Valencia wanted 20m EUR for Mata, if only Wenger wasn't a niggard...
I really don't get it, I know that the dif between 20m an 10m is 10m (xd), but Mata is 1000 times better than Gervais

Niggard. That 'd' is quite important.

Sorry, totally unintentional

😆 It's like that last 5% that we're always short, small but crucial.

Found it interesting that Hongstein went on record saying that we benefited for the absence of Gervinho (and Theo) I wholeheartedly agree. We had shape in our front line and seemed to have a plan. I know there are a lot of people who aren't sold on Lukas out wide, but he put in a fucking shift on Sunday.

I'm the opposite - not sold on him at CF. He's been a great left winger for Germany for years now, and it's rare to see such natural fits for wide forward roles. As for Theo/Gervais, they definitely break more attacking plays than they help create. They are good outlets though. Well, Theo sort of is at least.

The Ivory Coast won against Senegal today, 4-2. Gervinho scored and got two assists. (One if you don't count getting a penalty) Seems good, even though I didn't see the match.
