Mertesacker shouldn't have much of a problem. He struggles against big opponents that are stronger and faster than him. If we defend deep Suarez shouldn't give him too many problems. He's an excellent tackler.

I think Gervinho or the Ox will start on the right, Wenger has mentioned that we lack creaticity playing with three strikers.

I hope Diaby is rested and maybe Coquelin gets 60mins, otherwise he would be involved in three games in a week, a little much so soon.

We lack creativity when starting with Gervinho. Liverpool are too good for him to be remotely useful against them. He shouldn't play against anyone better than the bottom 5-6 clubs in our division.

I think Gervinho works well when he has space available, he is easily marked out of the game but so are all of our wide options.

Theo occasionally has the quality to break down a good defence. Gervinho simply does not.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the four goals he scored last year were against 14th, 15th 19th and 20th in the league.

Liverpool are predictable game raisers, will be a tough game for us.

Lets see what he does this year, last year was his first year in the league, Theo has been here years and has shown little improvement.

Shown little improvement? He came here as a 16 year old an 7 years later has 20+ goals & assists in each of the last two seasons.

Gervinho should improve - at least a bit. But right now, Theo seems far more likely to actually DO something.

on what planet is gervinho considered a creative player? he should be, at best, 4th choice winger. behind podolski, chamberlain and walcott.

It's just a 4.00pm kick off. They don't schedule it in terms of the size of the game.

Geoff claims that Chesney isn't fit. Manonne starts, as does the Ox. Interesting if Ox really gets a start. Is Wenger being more ruthless with Theo and Gervinho?
