Indeed, just look at their situation with CBs. I've never really rated Pique, yeah he is banging Shakira and they popped a baby out but that doesn't make him a good CB! Puyol was never top class but good enough however he is fading, look how many games Mascherano had to play as CB, why buy Song who is an inferior version of him, both are defensive midfielders who can play CB. Their GK is average at best as well and should of been replaced years ago.
Up top as well is a big problem for them still, Villa is being wasted and maybe isn't the player he was, Sanchez has not hit the heights of his first season and Pedro is flattering to deceive. Midfield they are well stocked up but did they really need Fabregas? They are trying to fit him in for the sake of things and the only way I believe he fits in that team is if Iniesta/Xavi get dropped and they ain't gonna happen.
They have spent a fair bit of money over the years, many of their big money signings have flopped though but their home grown talent is keeping them at the top, well Messi in particular at the moment! Though even the midfield of Busquets, Xavi & Iniesta is awesome, in Xavi & Iniesta quite possibly the greatest CM pairing of all time so those guys will dominate and run midfield 99 times out of 100, more often than not that will win you the game, especially having Messi playing infront of them'!
