He would surely play Chamberlain in the more advanced central role if Caz plays out wide don't you think? I think Sahin being a loanee means he isn't going to be a starting player right off the bat, but I think he'd good enough that he'll become one fairly rapidly.

If you've been following the story from twitter.

He was nailed on to sign for us a on a Monday a few weeks ago.

Then we cooled off and Ac Milan were interested

Then he was nailed on to go to Liverpool who "hijacked" the bid from us.

Then we counter-hijacked the deal from Liverpool

Then he was nailed on to sign for us today

and now some moron wants to come out and say Madrid want to put in a 14 million buy out clause, rolls eyes.

If you ask me I think we've been in negotiations with Madrid for weeks but these deals take time and he wasn't close to going anywhere in the past few weeks but is now closing in on a move.

What does that mean? That they've agreed to sell him to us on the basis that they're allowed to buy him back for £14 million? Or that we're allowed to buy out his contract with Real when the loan ends? Because the former would really suck, but the latter would be really awesome.

It means we had agreed on a loan plus a buyout clause for a specific amount, but RM have upped the amount of the buyout clause.

And whatever you think of him, GeoffArsenal was the first that I saw mention our interest in Sahin many weeks ago. So for me he has some credibility. Of course this latest stuff could be nonsense, or it could have been something RM tried but has already been resolved. Who knows.

I'm also very paranoid. Don't want to end up like Liverpool fans thinking we've signed someone and then realize he's going somewhere else.

He's very charitable is Geoff sharing all that top secret info for free.
It was reported weeks ago that we'd actually signed Sahin, Wenger actually had to come out and deny it at the time.

Kind of impossible to know who gets this information first or whether or not any of it's based on solid concrete contacts.

Ah. Well, it's a bit of a dick move but really, £14 million for a Nuri Sahin with five years left on his contract is nothing. I'd bite their hand off for that.

Not asking anyone else to believe someone has some credibility just because I do. There are two I've followed for a long time now he was one who claimed we were in for Cazorla and Sahin before I heard anything about it in the media or the blogs.

Hopefully there's no holdup or it's already been resolved and the deal will be announced tomorrow.

But when it comes to signings I'm never comfortable unitl it's on Arsenal.com.
