I could never see this happening. Just couldn't see where he'd fit in. Would still have welcomed him with open arms though. Never mind.

If we don't sign him I'll be as disappointed as when we didn't try to sign Vidal. If he goes to Liverpool I may even cry a bit. 🙁

And we have good quality at central midfield, especially when Jack gets back. Chamberlain will be playing there a lot this season too, and he'll be excellent. Unless we sell Song we have no real need of any additions in that area.

Song, Arteta, Wilshere, Chamberlain, Diaby, Cazorla, Rosicky, Coquelin and Ramsey. That's a lot of players for 3 positions.

Loan with option to buy, stumbling block, etc. and so on...

Even by your definition that still leaves Sahin competing with 5 other players for 3 positions. He's a good player and would have been a useful squad option after he'd settled in (after 2-3 months, who knows, maybe 6 months). But no great loss.

Well I disagree. I think that's a good collection of central midfielders. There are question marks over some of them, but it's not really related to ability or quality imo.

Besides, Sahin isn't 'top notch'. He's a young-ish kid who has had one great season and then not played for a year.

i want sahin as a replacement for wilshere, who might not be back to his old self for a long time.

we have plenty of mediocre players in this squad, but that will win us nothing. we need quality.

He is top notch.

But I don't really care; in that position, the only player who is nearly as suitable and of equal quality is Arteta. Doesn't have to be Sahin, I'll take any good-excellent midfielder to play there.
