Don't think we are much slower than other clubs in the transfer market. We just pay attention to what happens regarding Arsenal in a way we don't really do with other clubs. Look at Kagawa to Man U, or indeed RVP to Man U...

I think we are notoriously slow and difficult to deal with. It's pretty well documented with numerous agents and chairmen going on the record to bash our efficiency in transfer dealings.

There are plenty of drawn out transfers to other clubs every summer. We are seldom fast, but not that slow either.

We've operated with stealth and efficiency so far this summer.
Clearly working to a plan.
Nothing haphazard or left to chance as of now.
Just wish I could figure out what our end game is.

There's certainly been a marked difference this summer. For me it just highlights that a lot of our transfer market problems in recent seasons have been self inflicted.

Definitely. Last summer being the absolute nadir.

😆

If it is us, Liverpool, Galatasaray and AC Milan in the hunt for Sahin - we should, trying to look at it objectively, be the most interesting proposition for him. Milan being thrashed 5-1 by Real Madrid the other day shouldn't harm our chances either...
If Man U are interested as well it is a bit more tricky for us obviously. Still a few reasons why he would find Arsenal a better fit for him though.

Stop bumping the thread, Bumper Rex.

😆
It's gone so quiet.
Not a peep out of anyone remotely reliable on this Sahin business.
We need Wenger to be grilled at his press conference.

Stop hating Klaus!

Hmm. That image is more fitting for Biggus come to think of it. 🙂

Sigh. Prolly wont happen already

He'd be a mug to stay at Madrid, but then I don't think anyone really understood his decision to go there in the first place. It was obvious he wouldn't play.

If he does leave we still seem to be the most likely destination. Are they back from the States yet?

Stop bumping the thread Tim. It angers Klausie The Hater.

I replied to Clarence, didn't bump. There's a subtle but significant difference.

Not to Klausie The Hater. You'd be wise to remember that!

Stop bumping the thread, Rex.

Stop bumping the thread, Klaus.

You can't bump a thread just to tell someone who wants the bumping to stop to stop bumping!

Sorry Klaus, it's in my nature.

Sahin playing left wing against Celtic right now. I think he came on at half time. I'm starting to wonder if he might stay at Madrid this season as a bit of a utility player.

Don't even think about bumping this thread, Rex.

My bump was a legitimate bump wasn't it Klausie? Had a little bit of info, so it was ok? He's still in the States, so won't be any update on his situation until he gets back I would imagine.

Was a legit bump Tim, no matter how much Klaus tries to argue otherwise.

It was the good kind of bump. Rex would have you believe that all bumps are bad (unless he's the one doing the bumping), but really, how would we be able to post in that case? He obviously didn't think that through.

That there by Klaus Tim, is what is known as a bad bump. Don't let his shenanigans fool you! I'll just reiterate - your bump was legit.

Hope we sign Sahin. Cracking player.

You know the rumors have dried up when people start to talk about topic bumping.

as writes that sahin will leave this week and most likely sign for us. think this will happen.

I would be amazed if he signed for us.

We look to be pretty well stocked in central midfield at the moment.

If this will happen, it'll definitely be the end of Rosicky. Can't do much good to Ramsey's playing time as well. I wouldn't complain, mind.

Think Ramsey should be loaned out, he needs to be playing regularly.

A number of websites running that story today apparently. All of them are referring to AS though: http://www.itv.com/sport/football/article/2012-08-13/football-rumour-arsenal-favourites-to-land-sahin-on-loan/

http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/spanish-press-say-arsenal-will-complete-the-signing-of-nuri-sahin

The site in the second link has a side menu where de Gea is being compared to a Llama so it's probably a credible publication.

Aaaaah that brings back memories of the Arshavin transfer thread

Still have no real feeling on whether or not this one will happen.
I think Wenger's definitely circling and ready to move in on another deal, can't figure out who it is though.
