Saying he was always that good actually doesn't give him enough credit: he was always potentially very good, and perhaps his mistakes were blown out of proportion. But saying he was this good actually doesn't give him the credit due for his improvement and development: many now say (and I agree) he's one of the top defenders in the world . Now - good as he was, he wasn't that good. He is now good enough to actually ridicule the doubters completely - those who don't see it just show how poorly they understand the game.

I'm not sure I agree Yuv.

His game's pretty similar to what it was when he arrived here. Great on the ball for a defender, great endurance, very committed tackler, intense in the chase, leap and tag, relentlessly attentive.

Not only that, but he's bound to make some error during the course of the season that will have the hardliners crawling out of the woodwork to remind us of that Martins goal.

Kos is great, I love his pro active aggressive style, but again we saw him get a touch to deflect a goal bound shot which only the mongoose reflexes of Szcz saved us from......
He's actually got too good reflexes for an outfield player, he should take a lesson from the goalkeeping manual-
If you go you have to get a decisive touch otherwise stay at home and let it run.

Interesting point, but I'm not sure you can legislate for shit like that which is precognitive.

Koscielny is more precognitive than those water babies from Minority Report. He knows exactly what shit is gonna go down before the game has even kicked off.

Keown could do pretty much anything. Flying, curing famine, trolling van Nistelrooy... Loved the bloke to bits.

I guess you're right....
His reflexes are maybe just a too fast and when shit gets fired at him at him that he's got no right to reach he tries anyway and it sometimes turns turns to shit unless Szczesny has his shit together.

On balance it's probably a good thing that he reacts very quickly to get a touch.

It's true he's scored a couple of those own goals that look like sweet finishes as a result, though 🙂
