I don't think Song's move was a good idea at all for him. And (though he's surely better equipped than Hleb) I'm not at all sure he's really coming back from this.
I think you take the plunge.
If it works out, the benefits are tremendous - global recognition, establishment as a true superstar, participation in the? greatest rivalry in football history, opportunity to play with the absolutely best players in the world and test your skills against them, etc.
If not, at least you tried and you don't spend the rest of your life thinking: 'what if?'.
It's a risk worth taking.
