Lol and all this- mind you- is after I dared to suggest that we had plenty of poor defenders he could compare Vermaelen to without the need to bring Bendtner into it, and they drag themselves out from under the rocks......Wengerism is alive and well I tells ye, it'll only take a half decent run and the usual Spurs collapse and we'll scoop up our trophy type 3, then they'll be goosestepping out hailing it as "a fantastic achievement" and "a miracle".........In fact Capi has already said that he will.

If you care to look a bit Gus, I think you will find that in any given 15 year span every big club has several players in every part of the team who for one reason or another hasn't worked at the club.

Indeed that was my original point Rex- that we had plenty of defensive duds to compare Vermaelen to without looking for attacking duds (which we've also had plenty of too tbf) until the WDF (Wenger defence league) mobilised and turned it into a anti-Inamoto witch hunt.

This does seem to indicate an abundance of rubbish defenders though? I think it is fair to say that we, in the Wenger era, have had many times more good to great defenders than rubbish ones, no?

We've had enough nonsense now that Dreamlord's joke has been explained. Since everyone agrees that Arsenal has had both many great, and a hatful of rubbish defenders under Wenger, I don't think the rest of the 'debate' needs to be continued.
