Still, Iniesta has almost always been decisive or put in a great performance in all the big games I've seen him play in, at club level or internationally. Puts him slightly ahead of Drogba.

I thought Fabregas was superb yesterday. And I don't even like him but credit where it's due and all that.

I would've preferred Italy winning but Spain obviously deserve it.

If Arsenal played in the same manner, you reckon you'd find us boring to watch? Would you then find it strange if people praised us like they've praised Spain?

No Tony, I wouldn't find it boring because we'd be winning.
That has a way of alleviating boredom.

My point really is centred around the fact that I'm not Spanish, and outside of appreciating the supreme skill and brilliance throughout that Spanish team, games in which they feature are generally not a contest, therefore for me they lack drama, suspense, that element of surprise and some moments of madness.
It's all too easy for them.

Portugal and first Italy game were contests. As was the Croatia game. Those teams just didn't take their chances. And Italy were on par with Spain the first game.

In regards to the winning that's true, but fans have a sense if their team plays good football.

Notice WHU fans mocking Allardyce and Bolton fans mocking Megson.

I find it extremely frustrating and infuriating when we play pointless little triangles and 25 passes later we still haven't gained any ground. Typically, we also lose possession at the first attempt of an incisive forward pass.

We get reduced to that mostly because of a lack in quality, but Spain often do it by choice to protect a lead.

The first game against Italy was excellent alright, that had quite a lot to do with the Italians really turning it on though.

The opposite was true last night, Spain were unbelievably good but Italy were hopeless.

I also stopped watching the Euro final when Motta was stretchered off. As a contest it was totally pointless to keep on watching after that.

I probably wouldn't, because we'd be winning and since I'm obviously biased towards Arsenal, I'd find something enjoyable in it(apart from winning, of course).

As a neutral(sort of), I don't enjoy watching Spain play as much as I enjoyed some of the stuff Portugal, Germany and Italy played.

Don't get me wrong, saying I don't enjoy watching them play doesn't mean I can't appreciate the technical quality and precision they play with. It's ridiculous how good they are at times.

Nevertheless, being good doesn't equal being interesting to me. I prefer watching Zidane/Ronaldinho/Henry over Messi. The little man's a machine, while the other three were entertainers.

its pretty obvious and popular opinion to say Spain are boring when they do their tippy tappy because its aim is pointless and time consuming rather than ambitious and directive. But what makes them good is when xavi alonso etc pick out unbelievable passes or solo runs by iniesta or silva. Due to teams like Brazil doing it more often in a game they are seen as more entertaining.

I also think Germany are the new big team to explode with technical passers and dribblers and would have been a better match for spain.

I too of course think Spain are boring and I hate them as much as all right thinking people, but not because they're boring, what ever else they're effective and winners and I certainly appreciate that.
Like teams that "park the bus" no one has any right to bleat that it's anti-football- it's not- theres no such thing as anti-football, they've set up their stall and it's up to others to knock it over.
