I understand it, but find it a bit irritating that Giggs is such a shoo-in for these PL Greatest of All Time awards … longevity shouldn't be that important. I would give it to eg Shearer over Giggs.

The "real" prize is Thierry Henry's hands down but people forget quickly.

I'm with you on that, Giggs had some appalling seasons and has never, in my opinion, reached the levels of guys like Henry, Shearer, Campbell, Cantona etc.

Plus, he had an eight year affair with his brother's wife. Automatic disqualification.

I agree, Klaus, in terms of pure talent and productivity Henry is the greatest player to have graced the PL.

However Shearer really was an amazing player, and also a decisively English one, and played in the PL over a longer period than Henry at shitter clubs while still scoring constantly.
