Sick of this lad—I'd like to see us recoup what we can on him in January and use it to partly fund bringing in a striker who wants to be here, who wants to play where we put him, and who is a more complete footballer.

I blow very hot and cold on whether Walcott's an asset, he's clearly got lots of good qualities but he's also got an infuriating fecklessness about him.

I like Theo, but I love this new Arsenal where he doesn't take up a guaranteed spot in the starting XI. It's refreshing and opens up space for a real footballer who can contribute thorughout the 90 minutes or for Wenger to play a bit with the makeup of the front three.

We should resign him but not for crazy money. If he's too greedy then get rid of him. He's a good option off the bench and could be a point saver but we shouldn't break the bank for him

i'd sell him for 7m or whatever in january window if he doesn't sign on our terms. he really doesn't justify 100k/week or whatever he's demanding.

The problem Theo has got is that Wenger is going all out for tippy-tappy, so theo doesn't really fit into his plans at all.

Don't think he would have done better today. For a start, he don't have the strength, tenacity and dribbling ability of Gervinho to properly gain foothold in the game.

Very happy with our lineups now and Walcott being off the first team. Can't wait for him to be sold.

On the other hand I am pretty confident he would of buried the opportunity Gervinho completely messed up in the first half..

But yeah, I've been a big fan of Walcott in the past but he hasn't quite developed as I was hoping and I don't think he's gonna improve much. Won't be fussed if we end up selling, which seems certain.

I really wonder where he is going to end up. Can't see him earning a starting spot at a team where he would want to go to.

I like this by Arsene. He is very clear as to where he rates Theo. Had it been any other club, they would have given Theo his demands without much fuss and then struggled to offload him in a years time!

I like Theo as a player and he has some very unique qualities. But for me he is no way a guranteed starter. Its a squad game and Arsenal are a top club. No player should think himself as a guranteed starter unless he absolutely deserves it. If Evans, Welbeck, Hernandez can be rotated for Utd or Nasri/Milner/Dzeko for City i don't see how walcott thinks he deserves anything unless he proves it on the pitch. He should get real. Or maybe he has and hence going for money, lifestyle and bench.

Just had a very interesting chat with Theo Walcott at @FA's Just Play initiative. He wants to stay at #AFC He wants to play as a striker

Walcott was very clear that issues with contract weren't to do with money as widely reported.
