He's definitely up there. Cafu, Lizarazu and Maldini all had their peaks during the past decade too. I don't think Lahm is on their level.
I rate Lahm very highly. Superb in attack, superb in defence. Plays both side fantastically well and so consistent over the years.

Good first touch and generally a good finisher who plays as a traditional striker for one of the best teams in the world. Goals are a given.

Basically the whole team is geared to get the most out of him. It's why Bayern can't handle Dortmund, by the way. On paper they have players who are equally capable of playing that type of football (just look at the national team - it's all Bayern and no Dortmund) but they're not set up that way.
