Ok, maybe not that terrible. But looking at those players it's reassuring that Liverpool's squad has a way to go.

The FA are making their intentions clear early on. Fill the team with players who finished 9th in Premier League and you're bound to get the same result in the Euros as a worst case scenario.

Such a shame. I thought that England were going to have a good tournament this summer for a change.

Martin Kelly for Cahill is another thing. Why choose an FB for a CB? Especially when Terry reportedly also carries a knock. Based on performances since the turn of the year all of Carrick, Scholes, Ferdinand, and Richards deserve to be in that squad IMO. Especially when you factor in the injuries the England squad has been hit by.

For one, Carrick and Richards should not be on the stand by list to begin with. Secondly, I'm sure Hodgson could persuade Scholes to come out of retirement if he wanted to.

Should've never sided with Terry to begin with. Carrick and Richards should've been in the starting eleven, not left outside the squad.

The last 3 England managers have not been able to get Scholes out of the retirement to be fair. He hasnt played for England for 8 years.

Didn't Carrick refuse to be in the England squad altogether? Didnt want to be a sub or something.

No idea why Richards wasnt chosen initially.

Anyway, Roy is warming to me, he seems to have more integrity than last few England managers and actually apperciates being the manager of his country. Seems like a decent guy too.

P.S: Are we going to have a more expansive Euro 2012 sub-forum?

It would probably be unworkable having Rio and Terry in the squad together.
Fairly rotten luck for Roy so far, ridiculous foul that led to Cahill picking up that injury.
Resorting to picking from Liverpool's dodgy squad for back-up seems risky though.

In other news Evra has been caught wiping his ass with Valbuena's shirt. French media want him benched now (he has been a total dick towards the rest of the squad and staff and has been awful recently - most notably against Iceland).

He's such a piece of shit. Just give Clichy the spot really.

As far as I am concerned Hodgson has really, really disappointed me by picking Terry.

I have the utmost respect for Hodgson btw. He along with Bob Houghton reformed Swedish football, and he took my local club Malmö FF to 5 consecutive titles. Sort of.
