I have the S7 Edge and love it. I think Samsung make the best phones at the moment. Though, the edge thing is more of a gimmick, I never use it. I bought the S7 Edge because it has a bigger battery than the S7. If that's not important you could buy the S7 and save a few bucks.

Tbh the S7 edge is perfect in every way - my only reservation is Touchwiz tbh. Any lag/performance drop since you got the phone?

Got it before the summer. I remember one time the phone lagged, but after a restart it was perfectly fine again.

I have been using the S7 Batman Edge for about 4 months now and I haven't noticed any performance drop. The battery life is excellent and the camera is probably best in the market.

HTC has awful after sales. Absolutely awful. I would avoid it.

I went for the s6 at the time, so still a while before I'll upgrade. However, I researched properly ahead, because I too have always liked Htc. At the time, the S6 was by far the better device. So, unless Htc has somehow managed to become significantly better compared to Samsung, then the S7 seems the safer choice. Personally, I don't particularly like the feel of the Edge in my hand, so I went for the un-edged one. 🙂

As for TouchWiz, why don't you just use another launcher? There are several you can download for free which I'd much rather use. I certainly don't use TouchWiz just because I have a Samsung phone. Nova Launcher is IMO the pick of the bunch btw.

My trusty s4 finally croaked the other day, so I'm in the market for a new phone for the first time in ages. I'm looking around and the s5 is going for _£250 while the s6 is _£600. For someone like me who were perfectly content with the s4 surely there is no reason to spend the extra 350 quid for the s6? Or with Iphone 7 about to come out should I wait until the s6 drops in price and buy that one?

For those with the HTC10, how are the stock headphones, camera, accessibility and especially durability. I've read good reviews, but I want to make sure it's good to go. I'm still on an iPhone 6, which has poorer battery now, but still looks like it was bought yesterday, which is nice

If you're shopping on a budget, I'd look into the Nexus 5x or the Moto X series.

Where are you finding an S6 for that price exactly? that's ridiculously high, you could get the S7 for far less than that. Carphone Warehouse do the S6 for £369.

Buy the phone outright and get a sim only deal. Save you hundreds.

There's no need to buy as they gave me one for free and i upgrade every couple of years for free.
That's why i wrote "i've never bought a smartphone".

o2 were doing the Samsung S7 for £395 last week without having to be tied into a contract. Tempted me into getting a non iPhone phone for the first time since 2010.
