It's all too much effort. Even then, simple stuff like transferring videos to the Iphone in a playable format is a massive pain in the arse.

It takes 5mins to jailbreak, it's genuinely really simple 🙂 No more difficult than rooting an android.

I personally don't use my phone for videos, the screen size makes it less enjoyable for me.

EDIT: Anyway, android is certainly more robust, and the S4 (and other phones) is far better in terms of hardware than the iPhone 5. I personally like the iPhone though, good integration with other apple products, great screen resolution and responsiveness, huge amount of apps, jailbreaking makes it highly customisable, etc.

Also, one thing that shouldn't be forgotten is that I'm basically locked into the apple eco system since I've invested money into non-transferrable apps and music on iTunes. I presume that longterm android users have similar constraints.

You shouldn't have to do it, that's the point. If you need to jailbreak your Iphone then you shouldn't have got it in the first place. They set these restrictions so it doesn't effect the phones performance which is the best around from my experience.

There is absolutely no need to root an Andriod, it's fine how it is unless you really want to push the phone to it's limits.

A rooted phone has a few neat advantages. Android that is. Don't have a clue about Apple phones.

The battery's ok, it's the charger.
Seems that this charger issue occurs after the latest update of Jellybean.

If you are not too interested in gadgets, just want an easy phone that performs the basics for you well - then I think the Iphone is the one for you. If you need your phone to do a bit more for you than that and have a need for customization - Android phones are clearly a lot better.

In short - the Iphone is beautiful phone for dummies. 🙂

Stock and fresh out of the box, perhaps. But you can do pretty much anything you want to on a jailbroken iPhone.

An iPhone can be whatever you want it to be. Apple's walled garden and intuitive GUI doesn't necessarily make it a phone for dummies.

This debate will never end though, iOS and android are both excellent operating systems to be honest, and I personally choose apple due to brand loyalty, habit, integration, previous investment in iTunes, and aesthetics. The phone does everything that I want it to do, and I've never once had a problem in nearly 5 years of iPhone ownership.

You still can't really customise after you jail break. Android can do much much more to everything in the phone even without rooting it. Obviously rooting it can help you save batt, uninstall certain stock apps but thats it. Most stock UIs like Sense and Samsung is by far good enough already, there is so much you can do you won't really have much time for too much apps.

There is only so little you can do on Apple, the ios7 is a major disappointment as well. Apple is going down the Xbox route, PS4 is the way up.

Tell me, what would you like to customise that can't be done after jailbreaking?

Can you have multiple home screen? Can you add widgets? Can you change the way your icon looks? Can you change the way you unlock your phone? Do you get it haha.

You actually can do all of that 😆

winterboard for the icons and GUI changes, there are several widget apps, and several ways to unlock your phone.
