I mean, my mum has siblings and relatives who expect money off her too. We do what we can, but nobody is expecting us to sacrifice our careers and happiness to supplement their lifestyle.
I don’t really see why you’d expect any different from someone who’s already in a much better position to help.
Similarly, I want to set up my kids for life… yeah, god know what sort of life they’d have to life when Papa only earns £2m a year!
I have great respect for what some of these guys do for communities and charities on a personal level, but in the end of the day I’m judging them as footballers, so if you have no footballing ambition, I can’t respect you on those terms.
