Yeah, I said that. Dules said something similar too.

Here is what Wenger had to say yesterday when speaking about Robin.

'We will do anything possible to keep him,'
'I cannot say much more because I have said that many times.
'I am very proud that he has grown, having seen the boy arrive here timid and today being the player he is and the leader of the team he has become.
'He is playing under big pressure in every game because he knows he has to score - that is excellent development not only as a player but as a human being.

He is up there among the best players in the world.

I wonder what "anything possible" will be.

Dim 😉

We must do everything we can to keep him. But we said the same last year. If we get a 40m bid for him will the board be tempted to sell.

We will not sell as long as he doesnt ask to be sold or there is an outrageous $80 Million bid.

We wouldn't have sold Cesc either and were willing to give Nasri a contract which would have pushed our wage bill higher.

Have to be honest, I never thought he'd be as good as he's become.

I did. His talent was obvious from day one.

The fact that he wants to wait untill the end of the season fills me with no confidence as I have heard that from many players.

The situation is different to that of Cesc and Nasri unless of course we dont finish in the top four.

Cesc was desperate to get out of here and Nasri wanted to be paid a fortune to improve his chances of winning the balon d'or.

Robin doesn't have ties with another club nor is he deluded or greedy.

If it turns out that he is, I'll lose my faith in there being any decent characters left in the world of football.

We have players sign contract extensions during the season all the time, plenty of decent footballers out there.

Robin has been in and out of injury most of his career here, he has stayed fit for a while now, he should have signed what was offered to him.

Ofcourse his talent was obvious, just because I didn't see him becoming the best centre forward in Europe doesn't mean I thought he was average. In 2005 I would have had Reyes, for example, down as being a bigger talent and more likely to have a stellar career.

Even up until 18 months ago I didn't quite think he would be capable of producing what he's produced recently.

This is Van Persie's first injury free season. He owes us nothing may be, but the least he can do is sign an extension and trust us for another season. If we aren't competitive again, irrespective of what happens in the summer, he can ask to leave. He is not a striker who relies on pace and power, he will be good into his mid 30s. A season from now he will only be about to turn 30 and there will be enough takers.

I genuinely always believed he had the ability to become an elite forward. What I will openly admit is that I never believed he could become as phenomenal a goalscorer as he's become.

😆 Go easy on him fellas, maybe hes THE Wilshere, who wasn't born the last time we won something........

How many times must I state the sarcasm of my post?
God, it's like you are wearing shutter shades and only see every other post.

wilshere - were you being sarcastic? wasn't sure. Are you the real wilshere, BTW?

He really didn't know Ronaldo and Tevez played at United? Incredible.

I don't know what you think but I prefer 10000x times Nasri over Gervinho/Walcott, using wenger's terms, the french player is super quality, and Gervinho/Walcott are not (I think they don't even deserve to play in an english top team)

Someone said that RVP does not rely on power or pace, you're right, but I'm not sure if he will be got at his mid 30's, maybe he can play at his maximum level until 32.

We haven't been competitive, we were challenging with them so it's a step back.

Cesc was a poor captain i guess, RvP may have been a better choice, may have avoided the customary end of season collapse.

Cesc and RvP never played a whole season together.

'Challenging' 😆
What did they challenge for? The only challenge was to our patience.

As you say Fabregrease was a poor captain RvP is a much more inspirational one, so you appear to be contradicting yourself.
