haha yep. Just finished the book now. The last few chapters were great, but I think that one should have been the last. I don't think there was reason it couldn't have been.

Gawd, assuming Game of Thrones keeps getting renewed it'll likely be 3 or 4 years before I get to see it happen on screen. It's sooo much fun.

Indeed. It's quite memorable, not quite up there with an 8-2 loss to United for the reader, but certainly for the characters involved.

@Pep Yeah, when I think about it there are a ton of scenes which - supposing they actually get filmed - will be pretty damn amusing!

I think the TV series has legs, but I also think that cramming some of the later books into a 12 or 13 ep season is going to be bloody tough.

On that note, one of the creators of the series said that the third book will be broken into 2 seasons. It's so dense, it'd have to be.

Definitely it'll have to be. But based on that there are going to have to be so many seasons of the show I wonder if there's any realistic chance of them finishing it. I guess it's likely they will provided it's making enough money, but to do so would make it easily the most 'epic' TV series with an overarching storyline I can think of.

They better finish it. There are so many absolute clowns in the series that you just want to see getting ripped to pieces by the direwolves. Being robbed of the pay-off would be mad/maddening.

Yep. There are so many bastards that need to die that the last series will basically have to have a blood-spattered character death around every ad break or so.

I just typed the name of a (living) character into Google and it immediately suggests "X dies" "X dead" and "X death". No, that's not what I fucking wanted to search for Google. ffs...

Now reading A Feast For Crows (book 4) and A Dance With Dragons (book 5) at the same time. Splitting the story into two books running concurrently was stupid.

Just finished Stephen King´s "It" for like the third time. Found it in the bookcase a few weeks ago and remembered that I used to love it, but couldn´t really remember too much about it. Haven´t read it in probably 20 years in my defense... Still love it!

Now started The Emperor of Lies, or "De fattiga i Lódz" which is the original title. Been wanting to read this book for a long time.

Just read a biography over Toussaint L'ouverture. Got a stack of nordic literature to get through next, soon as I finish two collections with short stories written by Julio Cortazar.

Good to see other Song of Ice and Fire fans around. I read all the books over the summer. Some I found quite engrossing, but I'm beginning to feel there are too many characters and too many loose ends that would need tying up in the next, and hopefully, final instalment.

Picked up A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith a few days ago. Plan to try to finish it up within a month.

Listened to A Clockwork Orange over the weekend (had a long drive), and it was ok. A bit simple and obvious in its message, but a decent story.
