Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but there's big threads here talking about whether Szczesney or Fabianski is our #1, and whether we should drop Koscielny or Djourou (or either) when Vermaelen comes back. As for Arshavin, I know he had a blip mid-season, and you dislike him anyway, but he has the second highest assist total in the league this season, and to suggest he's not even pushing Walcott and Nasri is ridiculous. All three have played to a significantly higher standard than Chamakh or Bendtner this season. As for Diaby and Ramsey? Well, they've barely played this year, so they were added more as an afterthought, but I think they have the potential to play to that standard too.
So it shouldn't really be such a strange conclusion, given how much debate there's been around these specific players even here.
That still leaves seven positions (eight excluding the strikers as you did) which is why "I know Robin's good, but that's the calibre of backup player we have in most other positions." is a strange conclusion in my opinion.
That's just weird maths. No team has a first XI, and then XI individual backups for those players. Players cover more than one role, and more than one specific position. Between them, Fabianski, Arshavin and Koscielny / Djourou cover 5 positions in our squad. Add one of Diaby or Ramsey, and that's 7-8.
