Barcelona After Denilson?

Denilson's been terrible for most of the time he's been here - he's had some good performances (like away at old Trafford a couple of years ago, or Barca at home last year, but he's far more liable to be a dangerous handicap to our side most of the time he plays.

Get rid of him ASAP - he's had his chance, and there are younger, more talented players coming through who deserve their shot.

Pretty much my stance on it. I'd keep him til the summer if possible though as it might be a while before Ramsey contributes to the first team.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of a midfield shake up in the next 2 windows if possible, even if its just letting Denilson go and giving Lansbury a chance. Rest of the team doesn't need too many changes imo, unless really good players are available.

His style of play doesn't suit the Premiership. I don't think that it's because he sucks or because he's shit, but it it's trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

Very reasonable opinion. I think that's pretty much what'll happen too, once Ramsey is back. What I don't get is all the vitriol getting poured over the guy when he's nothing more than a fifth choice midfielder for us at best. There were many players who were worse against Wigan, for instance, but it's Denilson - who actually tried to make something happen - who gets the bashing thread afterwards.

It's because there were also times when he was beaten in the tackle and then just jogged after the ball, or times he was bypassed in midfield and just stood there and watched. He doesn't endear himself to anyone with that sort of lazy, half-arsed bullshit.

Personally, I don't really dislike him, but as Asa said, he's had more than his fair share of chances, and with who we have champing at the bit, he doesn't deserve any more.

But everyone does that. Basically no one ever bothers to track a runner in this team except for Song and Chamakh. I mean, look at how Diaby just jogged back when N'Zogbia countered and Koscielny had to defend standing against a running forward. It's not something that's exclusive for Denilson. Wilshere did the same thing against Birmingham yesterday countless of times.

I realise that it's not a very productive area of discussion since he's obviously not good enough anyway, but it's pretty clear to me that he's measured by a different yardstick.

Maybe, everyone's guilty of everything at one time or another, but Denilson is a persistent offender. how he can lose a 60/40 tackle for the 5th time in a row and just shrug about it like I barely matters, boggles my mind. He has very little will-to-win in him, or certainly plays as if he badly lacks it.

Diaby disgraced himself on the penalty incident the other night though, I agree entirely there.

I think that's what bugs me the most about some of the squad players too. They should be trying to prove themselves when they get a chance, but instead they seem to treat a start against Wigan like another dozen game. It's a shame in a way that Coquelin is out on Loan and Frimpong on the treatment table. I would have loved to see some of their energy on the field. It might've rubbed off on some of the others.

It really was disgraceful. Those players should have been playing like they had a point to prove, instead they just confirmed what we all thought about them.

The prospect of having squad players like Bartley, Coquelin, Frimpong, JET, Afobe, and others, next season, really gives me hope looking forward. For whatever reason they just seem to want to that bit more than some of the joggers who fill our squad currently.

i'll openly admit much of my hate for denilson is irrational and emotional. he's obviously good technically, especially for a 5th or 6th choice CM, and he can't help his limitations - that's on wenger. but like ricky says, the guy is a pussy and lacks the will to win. that hurts the team. even role players can help push the team towards titles, but this guy is deadweight that other players with more personality and character have to drag across the finish line.

for someone in his role, i'd gladly take a more technically limited player who has more heart and defensive brains (ie someone like flamini). denilson's been here how many years now? all i know is he still can't really speak english, makes us drop points, his passes roll really slowly, and he has a really flexible neck. i hate his face, get rid.

Think he's talking about a goal celebration Denilson did a while ago. It was pretty annoying to be honest.

We should get rid of one of these stragglers just to send a message to the other guys that incompetence will not be tolerated. We can rid ourselves of either Rosicky or Denilson and not suffer terribly in our title chase this year or next. We can even make some money by making it a reality show where viewers will be able to see our stragglers put through all kinds of hell to prove their worthiness
