i know this sounds culturally ignorant, so forgive me if anyone is offended, but i wonder if there is a link between the skillfulness of Brazilian players and traditional Brailizian dance forms like samba. Both require great coordination, speed, precision and flair.

I've always stuck up for Denilson but £10m is good value for him. I think he's worth it too but we have other players who do his job better. Get rid of him and get in a proper DM with a bit of experience.

We should pay THEM 10 million pounds and rescue Mascherno from his ball-boy duties, with Denilson going to Barca. Obviously, this couldn't happen at midseason given that we will be playing against them, but it would be a consideration at season's end.

Mascherano is a hugely one-dimensional footballer - it really doesn't surprise me that Barca don't play him, and it also would surprise me if, for the same reason, Wenger had any interest at all in signing him.

Probably not alright. Still, I wouldn't hold not being able to get into their team against him.

Dump him in front of our back four and we'd look a lot more secure I reckon. Admittedly a cheaper fix would be to just dump Song there, but that's a discussion for another place!

I'm not saying that he isn't very good at what he does, just that it doesn't surprise me that a team like Barca wouldn't like a player like Mascherano (though I do wonder why they signed him). But the reason he doesn't play much for Barca, as I said, is probably the same reason we wouldn't consider him.

Reckon you might see Mascherano playing in the latter stages of the Champions League - in a game like the one they lost at the San Siro. Personally, I wouldn't want him here, signing one player who solves the problem, is not realistic. It's a team issue.

We would be such a better team if we only told Denilson and Song to just sit (or alternate sitting) before the defenders.

It would instantly make the lives of Clichy, Koscielny and Skillachi so much easier. And Song is playing like shit largely because the manager has asked him to replace Cesc :-)

Song has much better raw tools than Denilson to succeed in this league, even if he has started playing in a somewhat odd fashion this year.

Denilson's too slow and weak - the sooner we get rid, the better.

i'm inclined to agree. sell first, ask questions later. i'm pretty sure we can deal with selling our 6th choice CM.
