It is the first game of the new season and our very first competitive match in the post-Wenger era, and after 22 years there's a new Sheriff in town. It deserves a proper match thread I think.
While we will be firm underdogs for this one, I am confident that Unai Emery and his boys will be eager to show that they can compete with the champions. We have been busy in the transfer market this off season - bringing in a whole host of new faces to address key weaknesses of seasons past. Bernd Leno (GK), Torreira (CM), Guendouzhi (CM), Stefan Lichtsteiner (RB) are notable inclusions who will be looking to make their mark in the first team immediately. Kolasinac has been ruled out due to his unfortunate knee injury, we will probably see Ramsey return from his minor calf issue, Monreal doesn't seem to be fit yet, and Kos is still severely broken.

City have made the one signing - nicking Mahrez from Leicester for 65m pounds. However with Gabriel Jesus signing a contract extension and with the usual suspects of Kevin de Bruyne, Aguero, Sterling, Sane et al, we are going to be facing a quality team and it would be a proper baptism by fire for the new look Arsenal.

Prediction:
I expect quite a few goals. It will be interesting to see how our defenders cope with the guile, pace and quality of the City forwards. I would be content with a high score draw, but it's more likely to end in a City win. 2-4 City. I only ask to be entertained and proud of our effort. I would like to see us line up in a 4-2-3-1 this way:
