Arsène Wenger, OBE[1] born 22 October 1949) is a French former professional footballer, who is currently the manager of English Premier League side Arsenal. He is the club's longest serving manager and most successful, winning eleven major honours since 1996. Wenger is credited for revolutionising football in England in the late 1990s, primarily by introducing changes in training methods and player diets and implementing a philosophy of organising his teams to play entertaining football.

Our most successful manager, the man who revolutionized Arsenal. If you want to direct your anger towards someone then direct it towards Gazidis and the board. Do any of you really think that if Mourinho or whoever was here that he would get 40 million pounds to buy a Hazard? The answer to that is a resounding no. Wenger can only spend what Kroenke and the rest of the board gives him to spend and like it or not they have the last say on all of our transfer dealings.

I'm a firm believer in the "you finish where you deserve to finish" in the league and we have the 3rd highest wage bill so we finished exactly where we should have. The two clubs above us blow us out of the water with regards to transfer spending and wages, hell two clubs below us blow us out of the water with regards to transfers (Chelsea and Liverpool). Can any manager in world football keep us where we are, not only that but can he improve us to a level above while operating on the same budget that Wenger does? I know if you read Swiss Ramble and other finance blogs it says that there is money to spend but there's a difference between cash available and the cash that the board will allow the manager to spend.

Of course I will look like an idiot if the next manager comes in and spends 40 million pounds on Goetze or whoever but until it is done I'm going to believe that our transfer policy comes directly from board level and Wenger has to do what he's told. Yes he has made mistakes and yes he can better utilize the funds he does have but I still think that he is the right man for the job and a brilliant manager.
